CDRP Canadian Domain Dispute Lawyer Service
CDRP Canadian Domain Dispute Lawyer
The CDRP, which stands for CIRA's Dispute Resolution Policy, is a mechanism to allow Canadian domain disputes to be decided through arbitration. Arbitration by an approved dispute resolution service provider is used. The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) manages the .ca domain name registry.
An example of an abusive registration is cybersquatting, which is the registration of a domain name of a known trademark in an attempt to obtain money from the rightful trademark owner by holding the domain from that rightful trademark owner.
Essentially, the CDRP complaint process is a way to retrieve a .ca domain that was registered improperly by another entity.
